Rahul says op incompetently executed , BJP slams remarks | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress functionary Rahul Gandhi’s remarks that the operation against Maoists in which 22 CRPF personnel were killed was “incompetently executed” triggered a strong reaction from BJP with law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad saying the Congress member was prone to making irresponsible statements which should not be taken seriously. Retired Jammu & Kashmir police chief Shesh Paul Vaid said, “Mr Gandhi, though I generally refrain from commenting on political matters, as someone who has led operations in Kashmir, I find your tweet disrespectful to CRPF. Casualties are unavoidable in operations of such nature against the elements supported by hostile neighbours.”

In February, forest minister Sanjay Rathod of Shiv Sena, who is facing allegations over the death of a 22year-old woman by suicide in Pune, tendered his resignation a day before the state budget session commenced. Sources from Shiv Sena said that the two back-to-back resignations have not only dented the image of the MVA government but has also raised questions on the credibility of Sena, which leads the triparte alliance in the state, and has come as a big embarrassment to the CM.
